Taking Screen shot

1.Press the CTRL+ALT+Print Screen button.  The Print Screen button is located on the upper-right side of your keyboard.    On most laptops you would use FN+Print Screen button.

This action will place the snapshot of your current screen in the clipboard.

2. Now launch Windows Pain, used to be known as Paintbrush. To launch this application navigate to Start, Programs, Accessories, Paint to launch Windows Paint.  Alternatively you can execute pbrush.exe from Start, Run.

3. Now paste the screenshot image using CTRL+V.  Alernatively nanigate to Edit menu of the Paint application, and select the Paste option.  If you are prompted to enlarge the bitmap, choose OK.

The screen print will now be displayed in the Windows Paint application. Now you can can print it or save it to a harddisk.  

The image could also be pasted to Windows Word.  You would do that if you simply need a screen shot rather and no image manipulation is required.
